History

The Center for Asia-Pacific Exchange (CAPE) is a non-profit, publicly-supported, educational institution which was established in Honolulu, Hawai`i, in November 1980.

Since its inception, CAPE has hosted participants from 16 countries in the Asia Pacific area in its various programs, including Australia, Burma, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Micronesia, Fiji, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, and the United States.

Over the 43 years, CAPE has brought over 12,000 people together under the auspices of its various programs covering language study, area studies, professional development and cross-cultural training.  take part in CAPE's programs in Hawai`i each year.
